THE TRANSITIONAL PERIOD

The "passing over" period from one Dispensation to another is marked in the Bible as a change or shift in emphasis from the Jew and the Law to the Church and the Christian or Gentile (Non Jew).

Israel is the covenant people of God, Duet 7:6. Psl. 147:19,20. set apart for the purpose of spreading the message of God's love and salvation among the peoples of the world. Jehovah Elohim called them out of the rest of the peoples through Abram. Gen.12:1-3 so began the Diving training for separation and education.

THE LAW - SHADOWS.

The Law was given through Moses. Exodus 20 which produces knowledge. Romans 3:20 and 7:7, that is, the knowledge of sin, as "missing the mark", transgression and as rebellion, also, self knowledge by the sinner of his sinfulness, lost condition and his powerlessness. Sin is only against God. Psalm 51;4,5. Luke 15:21.

This law, in its Mosaic and Logistical form was not given to all nations, but only to Israel, Psalm 147:19,20. It was inserted that the offence should be increasing "…. For through the law is the recognition of sin" Romans 3:20. Here we have the true character and function of the law.

It was not a necessity; its effect was to alter the character of sin so that it became an offence. Just as Adam's sin was against God's express command, and thus was a personal affront to God as well as a misdeed bringing harm on his own head, so those under the law, by sinning, "missing the mark" against the light, greatly increased the sinfulness of sin.

Law in its Mosaic form is something only temporary and transitionary; it was "until the Seed should come". Galations 3:19, it has its goal in Him. The Levitical order in the Hebrew scriptures level and spirit disappears with His arrival. Romans 10: 14

ISRAEL'S FAILURE

From the giving of the law, which was conditional, Exodus 19:7, 8 until the Babylonian captivity, 1,500 BC - 586 B.C. Israel's main sin was idolatry Exodus 32 & Ezekiel 8. Through this captivity they were cured of idolatry 538 B.C yet from this time onwards all the ways of Jehovah with Israel were directed to prepare it for its " world -wide mission" among the nations.

They secluded themselves in proud self-exultation and despised the Gentiles as "unclean dogs" Matthew 7:6 they failed against Divine universalism and set a self -righteous nationalism. When Jehovah wished separation they practised association, so now when He wished association they cultivated a self -righteous separation. Thus at all times they were a people stiff necked and resisting. Acts 7:51 & Psalm 95:10. Jehovah divorced them and there was a 400 year period of silence.

MESSIAH - REALITY

In due time Jehovah fulfilled His promises and spoke through a Son Heb 1:1-3 the promised Seed, the Messiah, Israel's King. His message was "the kingdom of the Heavens has drawn near, Repent" He came with the signs of the Divine Messiah, but the leaders refused Him and His works. John 1:10 &14.
Jesus chose apostles for Israel alone, Matthew 10:5,7. These came also with signs and wonders empowered by the Holy Spirit from the day of Pentecost, and they were persecuted and killed, so that Jehovah Elohim was completed rejected and refused. That is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

GRACE - NEW CREATION

Now Paul is chosen to bring in the dispensation of Grace to all nations. Acts 28;28. to "call out" a people to be a body for Christ, the Risen Lord. Romans 5:11. In this transitional period we have moved on from:-

Law to grace. Eph. 2:8
Works to faith. Romans 3:28.
Physical to Spiritual. 2 Cor 5: 16,17. Gal. 3:28
Pardon and Atonement to Justification and Righteousness. Romans 4:5
Ceremonies to Freedom. John 8:36
The Kingdom of the Heavens on earth to the Body of Christ in the heavenlies . Col. 1;18
Israel to the Parenthetic Church. Eph 5:23 - 27

Jehovah has not completely cut off Israel , for Paul states through the Holy Spirit "that Israel, in part has become calloused UNTIL the complement of the nations maybe entering, and thus all Israel shall be saved, according as it is written, "the Rescuer" shall be arriving out of Zion, He will be turning irreverence from Jacob, and this is My covenant with them whenever I should be eliminating their sins ." Isaiah 59 20,21. Septuagint . " As to the Gospel indeed, they are enemies because of you (nations) yet ,as to CHOICE they are beloved because of their fathers" Romans 11: 25 -36.
