MISSION OF THE CHURCH.
As we have seen the Ecclesia is not an organisation, but an organism.
Therefore it is not a social club, organised and supported by, and solely for the benefit of its members. It is not a place of entertainment, to satisfy the carnal, fleshly nature of its members.
Neither is it a reform bureau to reform the peoples of the world. The reformation of the human race is very commendable, as are all forms of social services. This is not the mission of the Ecclesia, the ones called-out.
Judas had certain desires and sought to start a 'save the poor campaign', but Jesus told him "the poor always you have with you".
The source of all the evils of this system is sin. It is in the very nature of humanity; the only way to eradicate sin and its woes, is to regenerate the human heart.
Jesus brought the gospel, (the good news) and in this way God provided a way back to Himself.
The mission of the Ecclesia is to carry this good news, that God has forgiven mankind their sins, and to have faith in the word and receive Christ as their Saviour.
It is not a system of ethics or a code of morals, but a proclamation of salvation. Man must accept Christ as Saviour in order to be with Him for eternity, or reject, and spend eternity in the Unseen, (Hell) which was prepared for Satan and his angels. Matthew 25:41
"I am not ashamed of the good news of Christ for it IS the ability of God unto salvation to EVERYONE that BELIEVES to the Jew first and ALSO to the Gentile." Romans 1:16
The purpose of the 'good news' is to inform those that are called of God, that He loves them and desires them to accept His free offer of eternal life. Romans 10:9
The Ecclesia must imitate the apostle Paul in his desire to make known the secret of the evangel, (good news) in this economy. The true spirit of this good news is the conciliation to the sinner, "Being, justified by faith we may be having peace toward God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have had the access in faith, into this grace in which we stand, and we may be glorying in expectation of the glory of God" Romans 5:1,2.
