Finally the earth will be destroyed after the countless ions it has been home to mankind. It will be made anew, the blood and pain engraved in it has to be burnt out if God wants a new earth. The destruction however will not be a complete destruction. The earth will still be the same but will have undergone a total cleansing by fire.
The Bible says of this present earth, that the foundations are built by God and they are there to stay. It was only the inhabitants that spoiled the earth not the earth itself. Like Gold going through a refinery it is purified by fire and the result is a perfect pure earth. This is also true of the heavens as well, all things are made anew.
