The Anti-Christ is a person, a human being, who will be governed by the Devil and his actions will be determined by the will of the Devil. Although at first he will not be possessed by the Devil he will later become possessed as the Devil culminates his plans on earth.
As to the identity of the Anti-Christ we are not told in detail but are given hints or clues as to his identity. We are told the number of his name is 666. A famous number made so by films like the Omen or the Exorcist. He has a number as everything has a number in the Bible and the universe. God is 777 and Jesus Christ 888. They all have meanings and 666 is no exception. 6 is the number of man and so the Anti-Christ is 666 the spiritual number of man and just short of God.
It is said he will be of Jewish background and if you could trace his ancestry back far enough would actually come form Jesus' family. Not from the line of Jesus, as he had no children but from his brothers or sisters. It is also said he will come from the Syria and he will be unwanted by women. There are people who have made it their life's work to discover who he will be and using number systems try to decipher names constantly.
We know he will take over control of the 'system' or controlling influence in the earth, giving him complete power over all peoples lives. This power will be peaceful and needed at first, he will be mistaken for Jesus by many and this is why he also is called the false prophet. Whether bringing everyone together after a major catastrophe or world crisis. He will have help from the religious leaders of the world who will be under one roof at this time and run from Rome. But once he is in place he will start to show his true colours, the Devils colours and his evil plans will take the world to the brink of destruction.
Some of his ideas will seem good at the outset but will have undertones of 'big brother'. He will implement a 'tagging' system whereby every one will have a small chip or devise implanted which will stop the need to carry cash. Everything will be put on the chip and you will become a human credit card and walking personal file. Without the implant or tag you will not be able to buy or sell, you will be hounded and killed if you fight the system. For if you do not want the tag you will be branded as a rebel against humanity or more to the point a thorn in the Devils side.
Yes there will be plenty of people who will not take the 'tag', basically because they know what it is and the outcome for taking it, an eternity in hell.
The Anti-Christ will be around for 7 years, starting from the signing of a peace treaty in the Middle East and ending at the battle of Armageddon. He is not some one you want to be and definitely someone you should stay well clear of.
