the battle of armageddon

Armageddon comes from the Hebrew 'Har Megiddon' which is the mountain district of Megiddo overlooking the great plains of Esdraelon, approximately 40 miles north of Jerusalem. It is a place steeped in historical battles and will be once more in the future.

However contrary to popular belief there will be no battle actually at this site, it is only where the armies of the world are mobilised from. As you can imagine they will need a wide space in which to prepare and gather, and this will be the place. Their aim will be Jerusalem and the temple but God will have other plans. They will have partial success or so they think, a half of Jerusalem will be captured and enslaved. The battle line will extend from Esdraelan down to Bozrah, about 180 miles. There will be no atomic bombs or total destruction of mankind as is sometimes said it will be a devastating defeat for the forces of evil and all those in alliance with the Devil. Jesus Christ will come on a white horse with an army and he will destroy the armies before him with his Word.
