Fourth Beast

Roman Empire (Daniel 7:7,8)

*******THIS STUDY IS UNFINISHED ******

7. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Here we see the Roman Empire which some say has been dissolved so this vision must be fulfilled. However the Roman Empire has never been totally wiped out. The Roman religion and framework was carried through many continents and in Italy today the Raman Catholic Church controls many of the decisions being made in Government.

It's control is not just localised to Italy, through the Catholic Church they have a world wide network of control not only over people but of banking, industry and the media. The Roman Empire is far from over.

The inference then from the vision of the 'little horn' is that it will rise, not from one of these but amongst all. The 'little horn' or Anti-Christ preceding the last three horns which as verse 8 says in the literal translation;

8. ...and three of the first horns were uprooted before it.

This symbolises that the little horn will be the EIGHTH horn as it precedes three, uprooting them as it grows. It does not let them come to fulfilment.

To understand this symbolism we must turn to John's vision of the fourth beast, which gives us a better and more up to date representation of what is happening.

The 10 horns represent the 10 divisions or Kingdoms if you like within the Roman Empire. This may not be easily understood, as we do not see where 10 Federated Kingdoms visualise themselves today. For the answer we must look not to the European Union but to an organisation aptly known as THE CLUB OF ROME. It was formed recently in 1968, with the clear blueprint to establish a world government by dividing the world into 10 regions

1. North America
2. Europe
3. Japan
4. Australia
5. Russia
6. South America
7. North Africa and the Middle East, including Israel
8. Central and Southern Africa
9. India and Malaysia
10. China
