Time of the Gentiles

The time of the Gentiles is a description of the day we are now living in and can be found in Luke 21:24. It is a time where the Gentiles (NON JEWS) have taken over control of Jerusalem blocking the ultimate goal of the Jews to return to their land. In the beginning God had plans for the Jews, through them He was going to bless all nations of the earth and set up a Kingdom with Jesus as ruler. unfortunately the Jews didn't recognise Jesus as the Son of God, and killed Him. Because of this God turned to the Gentiles and set about calling a 'Body' or a 'Church' from the nations of the earth, who would serve Him and love Him as their King and saviour.

The Jews as the chosen race are at present on a 'back burner' awaiting the time when God has chosen and removed the Chruch from the earth.
Only when God has accomplished this will His plan for the Jews start up again.

God promised the Jews a King and a Kingdom, this has not been forgotten but will recommence at the Second Coming when the Jews realise who Jesus Christ really is and what they did.

The time of the gentiles is not to be confused with the 'fullness of the gentiles' spoken of by Paul in Romans 11:25. The fullness of the gentiles refers to the gentiles that are 'gathered out' to make the Church, during which time the Jews will be 'blinded' as to the nature of Christ and the Church, this continues until the 'fulness of the gentiles' or the whole number chosen is 'caught out' or Raptured. After this point the Jews will be re-united with the promised of God and the promise land. The fullness of the gentiles started with Pentecost and ends at the Rapture, a short time before the 'time of the gentiles' actually draws to a close, at the Second Coming.
